    Welcome to the June update. We have been hard at work on Sir Lamiel’s frames. The wheels have all now received a coat of undercoat black. 5305LA progress Report - Part 2!Here's what else we've been up to in May alongside the overhaul of 30777 Sir Lamiel;45305: Work continues on the stripping of old paint, priming and painting on the underframe of 45305 while the boiler is out of the frames. Work also continues on the boiler to prepare the bottom 3/4 of the doorplate and lower firebox side sheets for removal and replacement. We welcome any donations to our group, membership subscriptions, shop purchases and voluntary assistance to help us move things forward on our flagship locomotive.D6535: The locomotive has recently moved back inside the shed at GCR shed works (loughborough) for the continuation repairs to the bodywork and full repaint. One area being looked at throughout May was repairs to the side access doors and framework within the bodyside.D123: The 'Peak' has continued to fly the flag for 5305LA throughout May, operating trains at the Great Central Railway and continuing to provide valuable income for the group.5305LA Shed Shop: Work continues on the shed shop, with another walls shelving completed and ready for use. We have one last wall to sort, which will form the counter and storage for stock. We continue to make use of the shed shop for opening, particularly at major event weekends at the Great Central Railway, which has proved to be very popular. 5305LA 30777 Sir Lamiel Progress Report!Please see the link below for an overhaul report on the progress of 30777 Sir Lamiel;'re running our Knights of the Round Table appeal to help raise funds for the overhaul of the locomotive. There's also the option to set-up monthly donations or donate a one-off sum to support the overhaul and upkeep of all the steam and diesel locomotives in our fleet.
